Chopin competition in Hartford is one of the most important Chopinesque events around the world.
Moreover it is the best piano competition in New England Area. It was founded as a tribute to the bicentennial anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin in 2010. Since then the competition has flourished to the level of the world class event. In seven editions, we hosted hundreds of pianists from five continents and twenty five countries. Our winners were laureates of prestigious international piano competitions as: Busoni, Horowitz, San Jose and Bachauer. Careers of many piano prodigies started here like: Umi Garrett, Harmony Zhu, Avery Gagliano, Shuan Hern Lee, Mayuki Miyashita, Christopher Son Richardson and many others. Jury included famous pianists, professors and critiques: to mention: Jerome Rose, Stephan Moeller, Luiz de Moura Castro, Adam Golka, Jan Popis. The competition takes place in 650 seat Theater of Performing Arts of Greater Academy of Arts and is held in three age categories up to 12, 17 and no age limit. Dr. Krystian Tkaczewski is a founder, artistic director and president of jury.
